Regeneration is a process to
remove soot particle or unwanted particle from the DPF which is harmful for the
vehicle and restrict in driving.
OR
The process of removing soot particle from DPF(Diesel Particular filter) to protect any failure in vehicle is called
regeneration. This process has come for BSIV and BSVI vehicle respectively.
In modern industry to protect
from harmful Environment which affects the human health and nature industry has
brought such type of technology to reduce pollution. Main purpose of that is
reducing Nox from the environment.

What is DPF?
DPF or diesel particular filter
is a device or part of the vehicle that is used in modern automobile industry
to remove the soot particle and provide the better or long and safe driving .it
is located after the inlet exhaust port exhaust gas has came from engine in
which many type of particle are mixed with it like carbon then firstly go into
the DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst) here carbon mono oxide (CO) and hydrocarbon
(HC) converted into the CO2 and H2 then passes into the DPF.

the exhaust gas and remove soot or unwanted particle from it which is affected
for the vehicle this may cause poor
pickup, mileage issue, pulling issue in vehicle or other failure happen.
Diesel particulate matter resulting from the incomplete combustion of diesel fuel produces soot (black carbon) particles. These particles include tiny nano particle—smaller than a one micrometre (one micron). Soot and other particles from diesel engines worsen the particulate matter pollution in the air and are harmful to health.

How to know Regeneration required.
Regeneration is very good process
to protect vehicle for future failure we can easily identify about regeneration
we have needed or not. In BSVI vehicle indicator and switch has given by every
industry for regeneration. There is a 3 stage to do work on it. First stage is
that when green signal show on instrument cluster (meter board) means that not
required by it and process will automatically happening.
And when yellow symbol will
indicate on instrument cluster means that 50% DPF has been chocked and required
regeneration by driver in that case is necessary to park the vehicle in side
and follow the process in the beginning on the ignition switch and start the
vehicle and keep an idle condition up to 1 min then press the regeneration
switch engine will automatic race and RPM will reach about 1800- 2000 and
temperature will maintain about 600*C. it will take 60 to 90 min. to complete
the process when process will complete
automatic engine speed decrease and become 600 rpm idle condition and message
will displayed on cluster “ process successfully completed”
When driver not noticed that
symbol or indicator which indicated there is problem in vehicle. And vehicle
goes on then Red symbol will indicate and buzzer sound ringing then required to
come the vehicle at service center here service engineer will do work on it
with the help of diagnostic tool and remove the problem.

NOTE- Remember that always keep your
hand with heat resistance/ heat protection glove. And make distance from
exhaust line because temperature exceed about 600*C. and always park your
vehicle where there is no risk of fire.
